The Large Animal Rescue Team offers 24/7 emergency services for equine and livestock and is staffed by Aiken Public Safety. Your donation assists in specialized training of the officers as well as obtaining and maintaining 2 large animal ambulances and equipment. Your donation goes directly toward their training and equipment. There are no administrative fees.
Aiken Volunteer Mounted Unit is an all volunteer unit developed in partnership with Aiken Public Safety, serving as ambassadors to our community. Any donation received goes to providing on-going training for the horses and riders and maintaining our General Liability Insurance. The AVMU provides their own horses, tack, training, transportation, and other necessities required to provide volunteer services. There are no salaries or administrative fees directed to AVMU. In light of that, seeking community support is of utmost importance. Your support in any form of donation would be gratefully appreciated. As a 501(c)3 organization, we will be happy to provide a letter for tax purposes.
